Resolution Requirements

Normal Viewing Distance (4-8ft)

  • Minimum: 250 dpi
  • Ideal: 300 dpi
  • Maximum: 600 dpi

Large Graphics (15ft+)

  • Minimum: 150 dpi
  • Ideal: 200 dpi
  • Maximum: 300 dpi

Close Viewing Distance (1-3ft)

  • Minimum: 300 dpi
  • Ideal: 600 dpi
  • Maximum: 1200 dpi

Scale Formula: When using different scales, resolution increases accordingly:
• 1:2 scale — 300dpi or more
• 1:5 scale — 600dpi or more
• 1:10 scale — 1200dpi or more

Adobe Photoshop Files

Regular (Flat) Images

  • Save as CMYK
  • Choose Photoshop.eps format
  • 8-bit preview with JPEG (max quality)

Complex Images (Layers, Effects)

  • Save as TIF format
  • Use LZW compression (lossless)
  • Set view to Overprint Preview

File Size: We recommend not creating files over 2GB

Adobe Illustrator Files

Saving as .ai Files

  • "Create PDF Compatible File" MUST be on
  • Artboards can be separated into individual files

Saving as PDF Files

  • We recommend PDF/X-4 standard
  • Ensure all fonts are outlined if using Mac fonts

Color: We print in CMYK. RGB files will be converted. PMS preferred for color matching.

Adobe InDesign Files

Native Files

  • Save and Package all InDesign files
  • Export print files as PDF/X-4:2008
  • Create separate _PRINT folder
  • Zip folder if using Mac fonts (non-OTF)

Package Requirements

  • Include all links and fonts
  • Watch for warning signs about missing files
  • Ensure images are not RGB

Bleed: We recommend 1" inch all around for fabric graphics - Keep all copy and imagery clear of the bleed
